Overview

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ was founded durring the late 12th century in winter of the year 1099, by Coûf̄sh Së̋ 'Jasmin Sweetmess' Jóoīy Gāsh Vú̄̌sh Shonkdsh. The establishment of Du̽gæ Hîchyæ suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Du̽gæ Hîchyæ which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Du̽gæ Hîchyæ is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of crampt cobblestone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Du̽gæ Hîchyæ's minimaly adiquite are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Du̽gæ Hîchyæ shows Du̽gæ Hîchyæ as a den of corruption. Birbes can be seen changing hands openly, such that it must be customary to do so and must have been for a long time. The locals have no fear, no annoyance at the state of things, it simply is. The town has another layer to it as well. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Du̽gæ Hîchyæ places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual, or at least, faking it.

Civic Infrastructure

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Du̽gæ Hîchyæ. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Du̽gæ Hîchyæ's parks.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ has a Guild of Nurses, which is tasked with caring for the elderly and infirm in accordance with local ordinances, religious values, and customs.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Du̽gæ Hîchyæ's natural decorations nor waterways.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

While Du̽gæ Hîchyæ might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is based upon new and innovative technologies of construction and the idea that form should follow function. It was an embrace of minimalism and a rejection of ornament. The style became characterized by an emphasis on volume, asymmetrical compositions, and minimal ornamentation..

In Du̽gæ Hîchyæ tiny harmless tornadoes plague the town.

The Ice Elemental, Small near Du̽gæ Hîchyæ are known to be quite timid.

Du̽gæ Hîchyæ's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Abjuration energies of tier 2 via proclamations.
